Hi! I’m Leah =). I’ve been hanging around the northwest my entire life and love it with all my being.
To start from the beginning, I grew up in Ballard and went to Washington State University (Go Cougs). That’s where wine began to peak my interest. Not only because I could drink it, but because WSU was making a rumble in the Viticulture & Enology world. I graduated with a degree in Digital Technology & Culture (the weaving of our digital world and the culture we live in), but had my sites set on wine as a thrilling space to be in.
After graduating, I started an internship at the Washington State Wine Commission, and it wasn’t long before they offered me a full time gig. Before I knew it, I had spent six years there in the marketing department and loved every bit of it.
I was immersed in everything Washington Wine, from the vineyards to the wineries, from the trade to the media, to local tourism, national campaigns, and everything in between. It was a 30,000 foot view of an entire industry, spanning from one side of the state to the other.
I later went on to be the Marketing Director for Matthews Winery, Tenor Wines, and Jaine. This was an invaluable experience that allowed me to get under-the-hood of a winery’s inner-workings.
My parents were entrepreneurs, so I had always wanted to reach the point of “working for myself”. After 3 years at Matthews, I decided to make the leap. I am grateful that they came on as my first client. In addition to freelance-wine-marketing, I also got my real estate license so that I could join my husband and help support our family real estate business.
Today I am proud to call this little wine business of mine a real thing. I’m thankful for my unique background in the industry, and love to harness the relationships I have built along the way. I cherish the clients I have, and look forward to those to come!
